“How to throw a lasso” 2016

My father was growing up as a reindeer herder; his mother tong was Sami. I grow up as a Norwegian knowing that I was a Sami, without a Sami language. I lost my link to the old way of living as a Sami, after my father died when I was 3 years old. Growing up partly in two different worlds. Searching for my identity, and “home”  where do I belong?
“How to throw a lasso” Its my fathers voice speaking in Norwegian; he is learning a group of people how to throw a lasso. The video is showing a family member and me at Laksefjordvidda in Finnmark. We are in the area where my fathers’ family had their summer camp in the old days, herding their reindeer.
No one in my family taught me how to throw a lasso.
